Jon was born and raised in the Twin Ports of Superior, Wisconsin and Duluth, Minnesota. He attended the University of MN, Duluth and subsequently entered the Air Force and served eight years as a Switch Technician in both Germany, and Grand Forks, North Dakota. He, and his wife Lisa, returned home to the Twin Ports with two young sons and spent the next 20 years in the telecom industry in both the Duluth-Superior and Minneapolis-St. Paul markets. In 2010 he left the corporate sales world and formed 1 Call Telecom with his business partner, Randy Underthun. Jon’s younger son, Matthew, joined the company in 2014, and together (along with strategic sub-agents and Randy) they have grown I Call Telecom into the largest agency in northern Minnesota. Jon and Lisa continue to live in their hometown of Superior, WI with their two sons, their wives, and six grandchildren.
